Canopy Hood Assembly Instructions

Congratulations & Thank You for your purchase

of this Toad Ranch Luxury Reptile Habitat Canopy Hood!

Tools needed:

·         Phillips screwdriver (wrist powered or battery powered- be careful not to overtighten screws!!!)

·         Instructions

·         An extra pair of hands may be helpful but not required for most sizes

Included Supplies:

·         Coarse thread 1-1/4” #6 screws

·         Screw Covers (these will match your side panel material/color)

·         (5) PVC body panels

·         Toad Ranch Signature Frame in your favorite color

·         (2) Black Aluminum Doors (or HDPE if upgraded)

·         (2) Black Finger Pulls

·         (2) Stacking Dowels

·         Aluminum Ceiling Beam(s) (depending on size of hood/selections)

Please Note:  All body panels will be marked on the INSIDE hood surface as to where they go and will have an arrow that should be installed to point toward the FRONT of the cage with the exception of the back-panel arrow which should point up.  “Right” and “Left” will be as you look at the cage with it facing you.  On the Top and Bottom Panels, you will notice there are two different sized holes on the front edge.  The larger diameter holes (without the countersink) are for the stacking dowels.  These will be oriented toward the front of the enclosure.

Steps:

1.      Locate PVC body panel labeled “Bottom” and panel labeled “Right”.  With arrows pointing the same direction, insert screws through the “Bottom” panel into the “Right” panel making sure the holes align.

2.      Take the “Back” panel, arrow facing up, and insert screws through the already assembled bottom and side panels into the back panel again making sure the holes line up.

3.      Locate the “Left” panel and install in the same manner making sure all arrows are pointing to the front of the enclosure and screw holes align.

4.      The remaining panel should be labeled “Top”, if not, walk a lap, calm down and start over utilizing second tool on list.

5.      Install “Top” with label IN and arrow pointing toward front.  Secure with screws through “Top” panel into assembled body

5.1.   If your hood came with an Aluminum Ceiling beam(s) (silver T shaped metal beams) do not tighten the Top Panel all the way as it will be removed later.

6.      Install your beautiful Toad Ranch Signature frame and, with the hood on its back, seat frame into the assembled hood body (this might be a tight fit, appropriate body screws may be loosened if necessary.)  Secure frame to the body with screws all the way around it.

7.      If your hood came with Aluminum Beam(s) remove your Top Panel and install them now by just seating them into corresponding “T” slots or “T” slot brackets found along the upper edge of either your side panels or your back panel and frame.

7.1.   Re-install Top Panel.

8.      Now it would be a good time to place the Black PVC FastCaps over the screws.  We provide FastCaps for the sides and top only.  We recommend if you are stacking, not to place them on the top of the enclosure/hood/stand that you will be stacking on top of.

9.       Set the hood back upright and admire for just a minute.

10.  Insert the Aluminum doors one at a time by passing them into the hood through the door cutout in the front frame and angling up into the top track and seating back down into the bottom track- you will want to insert the first door into the track channel closest to the frame and the second door in the innermost channel.  The second door can be a bit challenging, once you have it inside the hood it may help to slide the front door to the center of the hood so that you can grip both sides of the second door easier.

10.1.                    Finger pulls may be placed at your discretion.  Make sure the doors are all the way closed

before placing finger pulls to ensure proper placement.

11.  If you are stacking on top of your hood, simply insert the dowels into the holes on the top front edge of the hood and seat the upper enclosure onto them!  (Only 2 dowels are needed/provided per item, more can be purchased on our website if desired.)

Cleaning your Hood is a breeze!  Both the PVC body and the doors can be cleaned with a mild vinegar and water mixture and a soft microfiber towel! (Most other household and reptile cleaners are ok too just test them in an inconspicuous spot first) The panel labels are ez-release and should be removed after installation.
